Screen time in days

Turn your screen time into full days.

Hours spread across a day can feel ordinary. Klippy converts your daily average into full 24-hour days per year so the tradeoff is easier to picture.

The short answer

We multiply your daily hours by 365 for yearly hours, then divide by 24. That gives the full-day equivalent. The math is instant in your browser.

Use the screen time calculator

Why full days are easier to picture

Four hours a day sounds small until you see it as 60+ full days a year. The day view reframes the same time without calling it wasted.

Those days include work, maps, messages, learning and rest. The point is not to label all screen time as bad, but to see the total so you can choose one part to change. Try the by-age view if you want the longer-term picture.

If the number surprises you

Start with the least intentional time: a feed opened while waiting, a game used to avoid a task, or a late-night scroll that runs long.

Test the smallest boundary that fits your day. Keep essential apps available and change only the moment that creates the most friction. Practical ways to reduce on iPhone may help.

Common questions

How are full days calculated?

Yearly hours ÷ 24. For example, 4h/day × 365 = 1,460h/year ÷ 24 ≈ 60.8 full days.

Does this mean screen time is wasted?

No. The day view is a neutral reframe. Work, family and rest can all happen on screen.

Can I do this for one app?

Yes. Enter the daily average for a single app or category from Screen Time's breakdown.
